Tickelopes exists because I’ve always been more interested in the beginning than the ending.

I love hearing how things actually started. Not the clean version people tell once everything works out, but the real one — the awkward first steps, the self-doubt, the “is this a terrible idea?” moments. The part where someone doesn’t yet call themselves a business owner because it still feels strange to say out loud.

So many small businesses begin quietly. Someone testing an idea after work. Someone making things on weekends. Someone trying to fix a problem they keep running into themselves. Those stories don’t always get told, but they’re the most honest part of the journey.

Tickelopes is just a place to hold those stories.

There’s no pressure here to be impressive or successful or “figured out.” I’m not interested in pretending building something is easy or linear. Most of the time it’s confusing. You learn as you go. You change your mind. You mess up. You keep going anyway.

This site is about the people who try — even when they’re unsure. The ones who start small, learn slowly, and build things that mean something to them.
